This is the best news I’ve heard in a while and I’ve been patiently waiting for quite some time…. years. It was an awesome day when Team Associated announced it will be re-releasing the World Championship winning RC10 “World’s Car” driven by RC legend DIRT himself, Brian Kinwald. It won the IFMAR Worlds in 1993 and AE commemorated the achievement by releasing the World’s Car the year after and in 2014, marks the car’s 20th anniversary!

For me, it brought me back to my novice days of racing when my first real RC race car was the RC10 Team Car. One Christmas, I saved up my birthday, xmas, and lawn mowing money and pooled together $150 bucks and was set out to buy my first non-bashing RC car. Let me tell ya, $150 bucks was lot for a kid who was 13 and without a job. I couldn’t get a job yet b/c the legal working age was 14! It didn’t matter though, I did what I could and spent all the money I had in the world at that time and purchased something that meant more to me than just a toy car. It was a dream to own and drive one of these.

For over 4 years I looked at RC Car Actions and Tower Hobbies catalogs and drooled over all the cool stuff. I even remember looking at my 1988 Tower Hobbies Catalog everyday after I’d get home from school trying to devise a plan on how to own some of this killer gear. For some odd reason, I was just fascinated, obsessed…. but later learned it was called passion. This was an era and stage in racing that wasn’t about being fast. Nor was it about having the latest and greatest or I beat you or you hacked me. For me, it was about finally owning something that I’ve been wanting for over 4 years and was finally able to get it without my parents buying it for me. Yah I know…. in the end it really was my parent’s money, but I saved it… I made it happen. As a young kid just getting into the sport, I never felt more proud or excited.

I know there are others out there who were just like me and know exactly what I’m talking about. I think in this day and age, we are a rarer breed than we used to be, but we’re still out there. We’re all connected by emotions and experiences and this “World’s Car” is one that links the wonderful past with the present. Just by looking at the body, it’s a throwback to those times! I can’t wait to get one two of these!

– V2 shocks (not OG but I probably would have gotten these anyways)
– CVA’s (CVA’s or CVD’s are a plus)
– Double padded slipper clutch (Awesome!)
