AE goes with Kashima coated shocks! Finally and about time. Back in the early 80’s and 90’s, Associated started their very lovely ‘teflon’ coated ‘hard anodized’ shocks that set the trend for many years. However, since the release of the 12mm big bores and V2 big bores, they just became standard aluminum shock bodies. More than likely, it was a cost savings effort to bring kits and parts to the masses at an affordable level.

Now, coated shocks are back and better than ever. Kashima coating has been around for a long time and developed by a Japanese company to help improve lubrication, corrosion resistance, and heat resistance. FOX has used this technology in their legendary, silky smooth shocks in the MX and mountain biking world and finally teamed up with Associated to bring the technology to the RC world.

Now this isn’t an industry first. This process is very similar to Kyosho’s Velvet coated shocks, although obviously not called Kashima Coated because of patents and rights that belong to FOX.

I can’t wait to try these shocks out!

Shock Bodies
FOX® shocks with Genuine Kashima® Coat. These shocks have the same attributes as the shock coat found on the buttery-smooth FOX® Factory Series forks and shocks, providing extended life and silky-smooth shock action.

Shock Shafts
These shafts use a screw to secure the piston. Two coatings to choose from: TiN shafts for the longest life and Factory Team Chrome shafts for the smoothest action.

Pistons
Machined for a precision fit and finish. Edges have large radiuses for the smoothest shock action. Also available are blanks for customizing your own.

These screw-mounted shafts and pistons are not compatible with our E-clip shafts and pistons.

Fits 1:10 scale 2WD and 4WD electric buggies, and 1:10 scale 2WD electric trucks and short course.
